The ancestor of the current lighthouse was built for the first time in 1861 in Cassis stone, then it accompanied the other tower which lost its role as a beacon but was kept until the Second World War. Its construction, decided in 1855, required the reorganization of the layout of Fort Saint-Louis. This new lighthouse no longer had a fixed light but is equipped with a large rotating lantern with a Fresnel lens. The lamps were first powered by rapeseed oil like its predecessor but switched to oil in 1873. In 1908, the oil lamps were replaced by a much more powerful oil vapor lamp, before the electrification of the lighthouse in 1933. On August 19, 1944, German army mines caused significant damage to the entire port and in particular to the mole and the Saint-Louis lighthouse, which were completely destroyed. A temporary so-called "war" lighthouse was built in 1945 pending the reconstruction of the Saint-Louis lighthouse in its current form. The new lighthouse was inaugurated on April 10, 1948

Saint-Tropez's first lighthouse, called the "red lighthouse", was built in 1866 at the end of the large pier. It was a more powerful fixed red light on a cylindrical masonry turret 15 m high. In 1932, it was electrified, and became a red light with three occultations every fifteen seconds. He was the pride of the city, part of its heritage. It was destroyed in 1944 by German troops. It was replaced by a temporary one which lasted 32 years. After the rehabilitation of the port, the city of Saint-Tropez committed in 1999 to the construction of a new "red lighthouse", identical to the first. It was inaugurated and put into service on January 1, 2001

Faro de Oropesa del Mar, Castellón, Spain, May 2022

This phare is located on Cape Oropesa, which divides the coast of the province of Castellón into two parts, next to the Torre del Rey. It was inaugurated in 1857, using olive oil, paraffin and later oil as fuel. It was electrified in 1924.

Lage Vuurtoren, IJmuiden, North Holland, The Netherlands, April 2022

The low lighthouse of IJmuiden is a round, reddish-brown, cast iron tower designed by Quirinus Harder and built between 1877 and 1878. The tower has a height of 24 meters and, together with the high lighthouse of IJmuiden, forms a light line that marks the IJgeul and the entrance to the harbor. The tower has five floors and 88 steps.
